2. Website delivery and hosting

This website is delivered through Cloudflare. When you visit, technically necessary connection and log data is processed. This may include your IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer, browser type, operating system and device information. This processing supports the secure, fast and reliable delivery of the website and helps prevent abusive access.

Cloudflare may process data in various countries, including the United States. Further information is available in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Log data is retained only for as long as necessary for these purposes or to meet legal obligations.

Hosting and security processing is based on my legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Contact by email

If you contact me by email, I process your email address and message to respond to your inquiry, based on my legitimate interest in handling correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted once the inquiry is resolved and further correspondence is no longer expected, unless legal retention obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims require longer storage.

4. Newsletter via beehiiv

I use beehiiv for newsletter subscriptions, delivery and analytics. The service is provided by beehiiv Inc., 228 Park Avenue #2329976, New York, NY 10003, USA. The signup form loads only after you click “COUNT ME IN”. A connection to beehiiv is established only then. Data processed may include your IP address, browser and device information, referring page, and subscription and usage data. The form may also set an attribution cookie lasting up to 30 days.

When you subscribe, your email address and the data needed to document your subscription are processed. Subscribing is voluntary and, where enabled, confirmed through double opt-in. Newsletters may measure delivery, opens and link clicks. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in each newsletter email. Subscription data is generally processed until you unsubscribe; records documenting your subscription may be retained beyond that to meet legal obligations. Further information is available in beehiiv’s privacy policy.

Newsletter delivery is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 174 of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). Providing your email address is voluntary but necessary to receive the newsletter. You can also withdraw your consent by emailing me. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

5. Analytics with Umami

I use Umami Cloud, a service provided by Umami Software, Inc., for statistical analysis and technical performance measurements. Information collected may include pages visited, referrers, browser, operating system, device type, approximate country of origin and loading times. According to Umami, it does not use cookies or track visitors across websites. Technical information such as IP address, browser identifier and website ID is converted into a hash to create a temporary session identifier; the IP address itself is not stored in the analytics profile.

Depending on the selected region, Umami Cloud may process data in the European Union or the United States. Further information is available in Umami’s privacy policy and Umami’s documentation.

6. Pinterest, Instagram and external links

This website includes links to Pinterest and Instagram and a Pinterest domain verification tag. No social media feeds, tracking pixels or plugins from these platforms are embedded. Simply visiting this website therefore does not establish a connection to Pinterest or Instagram. If you follow a link or pin a recipe on Pinterest, the privacy policy of the relevant platform applies.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

I do not set optional analytics or marketing cookies myself for general use of this website. Umami operates without cookies. The embedded beehiiv form may set an attribution cookie only after you deliberately click to load it. You can use the website without loading the form. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

If you choose light or dark mode, your preference is saved in your browser’s local storage under “domace-theme” until you overwrite it or clear the website’s stored data. This storage provides the display setting you expressly request (Section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). To the extent personal data is processed, the basis is my legitimate interest in remembering that setting (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

8. International data transfers

The service providers listed above may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where data is transferred to a country without a recognized adequate level of data protection, the providers state that they use appropriate contractual safeguards, in particular standard contractual clauses. Despite such measures, access by US authorities cannot be entirely ruled out when data is processed in the United States.

9. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may also object to processing or withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority or another competent data protection supervisory authority.

For processing based on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. Contact hallo@domace.studio to exercise your rights. I do not use your data for automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.
